New to the UK market from PIV Technology, the AS Series of high-power desktop adapters are manufactured by Glacial Power and form one portion of an extensive product range available from the company. These products are geared towards media centre, POS, DVR, LCD monitor, LCD TV and IT applications and feature power outputs of 120, 150 and 180W, with outputs ranging from 12 to 48V (120 and 150W) and 19 to 24V (180W) with a minimum efficiency of 82%.
All adapters in the series feature universal AC inputs (90 - 264V AC, 47 - 63Hz) and have built in active power factor correction (better than 0.95 at 115V AC and 0.98 at 230V AC).

In line with CEC requirements, this series of power supplies features a maximum no load power consumption of 0.75W.

The standard input connector for these products is IEC C14 with C8 and C6 connectors available as an option.
The range features overtemperature, overvoltage, short-circuit and overload protection.

Short-circuit protection uses a hiccup mode technique which recovers automatically when the fault is removed.

This series is convection cooled with an operating temperature range of 0 to 40C at full load with derating of 3% per degree from 41 to 50C, storage temperature is -40 to +80C.

Operating humidity is 20-90% noncondensing and storage humidity is 10-90%.

All products in the series are UL, cUL and CE approved, comply to EN55022 Class B and EN61000 and are also meet the requirements of the RoHS and WEEE Directives.

The MTBF of this series is a minimum of 100kh, calculated using MIL-HDBK-217F at 25C.

The AS series is compact for its power output with a maximum size of 200 x 85 x 47mm and a maximum weight of 1.2kg.
