Welcome to AC/DC Power Supplies

High-voltage supplies set for Electronica launch

HiTek Power will introduce two compact high-voltage power supplies at Electronica 2006 - the HG70 72W X-ray generator power supply module and the OL10K family of 10kW supplies for use in a wide range of ion and electron beam systems. The HG70 supply for grounded-cathode tubes incorporates the high voltage and filament power supply stages and all necessary beam control circuitry. Measuring only 204 x 73 x 127mm, the new unit is the smallest in the market for its power capabilities.

It is available with an optional interface to enable full control via RS232.

The unit is supplied from a 24V DC rail and provides up to 60kV for the X-ray tube anode with a maximum current of 1.2mA.

It also provides a low voltage output for the X-ray tube filament, with a current of up to 3.5A and a maximum voltage of 5.5V.

High levels of remote control and monitoring meet the needs of modern X-ray systems to be controlled more finely and the growing need to protect ever-more-expensive tubes.

Control and monitoring is via a 15-way D-type connector, front-panel potentiometers and an optional RS232C interface.

It includes control of on/off, high voltage output, maximum and standby filament currents; and monitoring of high voltage output, and beam and filament currents.

The OL10K family of 10kW high voltage power supplies has been designed for use in a wide range of ion and electron beam systems.

The supply's 3U-high convertor box is one of the smallest in the industry, and an optional active arc management system is particularly useful in ion implanter applications.

The supplies are mains powered and provide a choice of eight maximum output voltages between 60 and 200kV.

A number of features are incorporated to ensure that system integrity is maintained during adverse operating conditions.

These include continuous primary current monitoring with fast pulse truncation and soft start, extensive thermal monitoring and automatic shutdown on key components, passive output current limiting for instantaneous surge control and independent output overvoltage sensing.

Optionally, HiTek Power's arc count and extinguish (ACE) system can be installed for active arc management.

Full remote control and monitoring is available via a 25-way, D-type connector on the rear panel of the OL10K's convertor unit.

The unit also features a full range of front-panel controls and indicators.
